Midwesterner. Wife of a great guy, and mom of four fine adults. A writer with a love of photography, (you can check out my photos at a trace of place) travel and a serious passion for history, I’m drawn to the stories of regular people living through extraordinary times.
Here at therootsystems, my writing comes out of the experience of searching for the stories of my own family (the Irish branch), the desire to know those who came before me and to give them voice.
I’m convinced that personal historical knowledge has a healing quality sorely needed in our global, yet fractured, era. A strong believer in the mystery and the power of place, I aim to find the sacramental in the commonplace.
Hi Lois.
I finally got some little breaks today to enter this wonderful place you are making. Thank you for taking the time to share your searchings and findings. You weave it very well indeed!
I will come back often. After I receive my subscription directions
What a beautiful phrase: …”find the sacramental in the commonplace.”
Thanks Patricia! And thank you for stopping by.
Lois
